The city of Taizhou - located in East China's Jiangsu province - will focus on the transformation of its industry and on improving people's livelihoods in the current year.
The city's GDP is projected to rise by 6 percent and fixed asset investment is expected to grow by 8 percent, while total retail sales of consumer goods are expected to increase by around 7 percent.
In order to construct a modern industry ecosystem, Taizhou will promote the high-quality development of its big health industry, as well as pursue the transformation of its intelligent and digital sector. It will also assist enterprises in expanding their competitive areas and in developing unique skills.
In line with the precept that people come first, Taizhou will increase the basic level of residents' pension insurance and offer support to poor people, those with disabilities and children in need - in the process seeking to improve the levels of social cohesion.
What's more, to provide better services for its residents, the city will construct 30 schools and focus on building regional medical centers this year. It will also implement a COVID-19 Class B management plan in a well-ordered way.
