Now is the perfect time to devour mouthwatering fresh hairy crabs in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, located in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, with the prized crustaceans arriving in the market in large quantities.
The Gang Run brand hairy crab is produced at the breeding farm run by a local company called Taiji Agriculture. The location is adjacent to the Yangtze River, with the good aeration and strong permeability of the soil there making it highly suitable for farming them to impressive sizes.
Elsewhere in Huzhuang town, there are 16 middle ditches leading directly to the Yangtze River, so their crabs are reared in the water of Yangtze River. The breeding area for crabs in Huzhuang covers nearly 200 hectares, with an annual output of crabs of nearly 350 metric tons.
The Nanguan River hairy crab farm, located in Minghe village in Xuzhuang sub-district, has adopted channel irrigation to provide water for crab farming. From crab seedlings cultivation to their pond release, ecological and scientific breeding methods keep the crabs clean and tasty.
