The Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone – located in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province – has been actively boosting the prosperity and development of its cultural services and cultural industries in the region.
The zone has promoted the upgrading and admissions-free opening of its libraries and cultural centers, which organized over 100 lectures and exhibitions and over 100 public welfare training courses annually.
71 public stages, 40 rural libraries, over 100 community libraries and over 160 cultural and sports squares are said to have improved the quality of life of its residents.
In 2023, the zone's cultural, sports and entertainment industries generated revenue of 218 million yuan ($29.91 million). Little wonder then that it is now home to 94 cultural enterprises above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more – further consolidating the foundations for the expansion of the cultural sector.
Moving forward, plans are to focus on start-ups of more cultural and tourism projects – with the zone at present actively advancing the early operation of seven projects currently in construction, including a seawater park and a sports park.
