The Taizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently held a joint signing ceremony for three investment projects to be based there.
They comprised a processing and manufacturing plant and two sales and service projects, covering the fields of cross-border e-commerce, as well as the manufacturing of generator sets and healthcare products.
With a total investment of 518 million yuan ($71.52 million), the manufacturing plant will focus on the production, sales and exports of hybrid diesel-solar-powered intelligent generators.
At full capacity, the plant is expected to achieve annual sales of 600 million yuan and $70 million in imports and exports annually.
The cross-border project involves Taizhou zone resident company Source One Outdoor Products Co Ltd establishing a cross-border e-commerce export pre-warehouse to store goods and offer support services.
Pre-warehouses are warehouses used especially in fresh food e-commerce which are located physically close to consumers.
In addition, the health care products project will conduct cross-border e-commerce import and distribution sales of internationally renowned products – including supplements and health products – through leading employee welfare procurement platforms and community online group buying platforms.
Once it starts operating, the project is expected to realize cross-border e-commerce sales of $10 million annually.
