Wan Wenhua, mayor of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, on May 15 went to the Gaogang district of the city – also known as the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone – for a fact-finding mission.
In so doing, the city chief wanted to highlight innovation and development in its health industry, aiming to bolster Taizhou's position in the sector.

She emphasized accelerating innovation, enhancing productivity and achieving high-quality development as benchmarks for progress.
The zone is seen as being crucial for Taizhou's overall health industry and the mayor delved into progress details, growth areas and subsector developments.
Wan stressed the importance of high-quality development, strategic planning, clear objectives and robust industry support.
Innovation was singled out as key to productivity, with a focus on building strong innovation platforms and leveraging academic resources effectively.
Wan also reviewed major project progress, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to be made to attract projects and ensure the city's development.
She highlighted the importance of optimizing the system and its various operational mechanisms, as well as fostering a conducive environment for a broad range of talent to contribute to the health industry's continued expansion.
