Various performances were held on Diaopu Street in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, on Oct 19 to celebrate the Chongyang Festival, or Double Ninth Festival.
The festival falls on the ninth day of the ninth month according to the Chinese lunar calendar.
The performers pose for a group photo with the Chinese characters "jiu", which means "nine" in English. In Chinese folklore, the number nine is considered the largest number and symbolizes a long and healthy life. [Photo/article.xuexi.cn]
