The collaboration between Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and Taizhou city began five years ago and has since deepened and strengthened.
The establishment of the Taizhou campus was perceived as being a significant milestone in the city's higher education development. The university and Taizhou signed the cooperation agreement in 2018 and welcomed the first batch of undergraduates in 2020.
Overall, Taizhou is known for its booming pharmaceuticals industry and the city is striving to build a global influence in the pharma health sector.
As a result, the Taizhou campus of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine is focusing on meeting the development needs of local industries.
The school offers majors in Chinese medicine, biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical engineering, as well as food quality and safety. All of these are aligned with the industrial development of Taizhou's pharmaceutical industry.
Over the next two years, the campus plans to introduce additional majors to further adapt to the needs of the local sector.
