Plans are for 27 city-level engineering centers to be built in the Gaogang district, of Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province.
That number of companies have been put on the list of construction projects for the research centers in 2023. They will account for 40.9 percent of the total of newly established centers in the city.

The list was announced by the Taizhou science and technology bureau.
Enterprise engineering technology research centers are platforms for companies to conduct engineering research, experiments and comprehensive technical services.
They focus on developing key technologies that are common to industrial development, transforming technology into industrial applications.
In recent years, Gaogang district has been actively supporting the establishment of city-level research institutions by large and medium-sized enterprises and provincial-level new research institutions.
The district has taken advantage of favorable conditions in Taizhou, including unlimited declaration quotas for companies in the health industry and strong support for high-quality development.
By doing so, it's increased investment in project development, personnel recruitment, research and development, as well as industry-university-research cooperation.
The goal is to boost the quantity and quality of newly established city-level engineering technology research centers – and to select excellent institutions as candidates for cultivating and recommending provincial-level and above research institutions.

To date, the district has erected 128 city-level engineering technology research centers, accounting for 22.7 percent of the total in the city.
