The Gaogang district of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province has been hailed as a leader in industrial and information industry upgrading.
It emerged as the top performer in a recent assessment conducted by the province's Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Department of Finance.

The district's provincial-level integrated platform for large, medium and small enterprises was awarded the highest score in the province – earning it additional funding of 8 million yuan ($1.25 million) for the development of its pharma industry and related projects.
Since being recognized as a provincial-level integrated platform for large, medium and small enterprises in 2021, the Gaogang district has mobilized.
It's focused on leveraging its strengths in the pharmaceutical industry – focusing on the development and production of biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, pharmaceutical new materials and the utilization of health big data.
Over the past two years, the integrated platforms are said to have played a significant role in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and integrated development among large, medium and small enterprises there.
By the end of 2022, the district had successfully attracted 20 leading manufacturers, established partnerships with 44 industry backbone enterprises, incubated 523 small and medium-sized enterprises and facilitated the growth and development of 71 enterprises.
