The Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone – a zone also known as the Gaogang district of Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province – was recently recognized as one of the advanced areas in agricultural and rural information development.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in Beijing released a list of those recognized and the zone became the only county, county-level city or district in Taizhou to achieve the honor.

Following the instructions of the district committee and government, the zone has released its plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) on its agricultural and modern rural development. By integrating its financial expenditure, the zone has funded the construction of rural digital agriculture bases, rural e-commerce featured villages and leading enterprises, to boost the high-quality development of agriculture there.
In addition, the zone has invested 790,000 yuan ($116,909) to construct a big data platform. It has set up 11 resource catalogs, enabling it to connect with other cities and provinces.
What's more, the zone has undertaken moves to build intelligent agricultural models. In 2022, it built a planting base for the Shine Muscat – a variety grape – which uses more than three intelligent sensing technologies and four automatic control technologies in the production process.
The base is expected to produce more than 120 metric tons of grapes annually after reaching full production, with annual sales of more than 5.5 million yuan and annual profits of more than 3.2 million yuan.
