Binjiang Industrial Park located in the southwest of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – is connected to the Nanguan River in the east, to Yangzhou city's Jiangdu district in the west, as well as to National Highway 345 in the north and to the Yangtze River in the south.
The park covers an area of 13.08 square kilometers and has a total population of about 15,000. The park cooperates administratively with Yanjiang sub-district – with the park responsible for the development of the industrial economy and the sub-district responsible for social management services.
Founded in 2000, it was included in the first batch of municipal-level special industrial parks in 2014 and was upgraded into a chemicals industrial park in 2021.
At present, there are 28 industrial enterprises above a designated size in the park – companies with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.86 million) or more. There is also one national-level enterprise technology center, as well as four provincial-level engineering technology research centers, one key municipal-level laboratory and eight high-tech enterprises.
In recent years, the park has focused on the path of high-quality development. It has optimized its industrial structure and regional layout, practicing the concept of green and safe development and innovating intelligent management methods and means.
The park ranked among the top 30 Chinese chemicals parks for three consecutive years, from 2018 to 2020, when it was the smallest in terms of planning area and volume. In 2019, the park was approved as an intelligent chemicals park pilot demonstration unit.
