The 2024 Thailand-Taizhou Investment and Business Cooperation Forum was held on Nov 27, aimed at further advancing investment and business exchanges between Taizhou, Jiangsu, and Thailand.
The event focused on promoting the expansion of Taizhou's key industries and enterprises into international markets, particularly Thailand, and fostering high-quality foreign investment cooperation.
During the forum, Prinat Apirat, consul general of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Shanghai, highlighted the significance of the event in the context of the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic relations next year. She emphasized the consulate's commitment to understanding the challenges faced by Taizhou businesses investing in Thailand and their needs and expressed a willingness to work closely with Taizhou's relevant departments to deepen economic and trade cooperation.
In recent years, Taizhou enterprises have actively seized opportunities to compete in the international market, particularly in Southeast Asia, with a notable increase in investments in Thailand.
Statistics show that Taizhou's investment in Thailand currently stands at $630 million, with key sectors including electrical machinery, metal products, and plastic products. Two of Taizhou's largest overseas investments, by Jiangsu Xingda Steel Tyre Cord and Huali New Materials, are located in Thailand.
The forum highlighted the growing economic collaboration between the two regions and set the stage for further investment in Thailand, underscoring the commitment of both sides to driving mutual prosperity.
