On the evening of Oct 15, the Peking Opera Mei Lanfang: The Osmanthus Chronicles, produced by Taizhou, made a stunning debut at Jiangsu Zijin Grand Theatre.
The Taizhou Mei Lanfang Peking Opera Troupe invited renowned Peking Opera artist Fu Xiru for a special performance, guiding the audience through the early years of the legendary opera master Mei Lanfang.
During the over two-hour performance, the audience witnessed the young Mei Lanfang's struggles with self-doubt and criticism as well as his triumphant rise to fame in Shanghai. The captivating plot, powerful vocals, and elegant melodies earned high praise from attendees.

In addition to the opera, the Taizhou Mei Lanfang Troupe hosted interactive segments featuring traditional Taizhou arts, including morning tea, wood carving, and various intangible cultural heritage crafts such as Taizhou mud figurines and farmers' paintings from Xinghua. The display highlighted the rich cultural offerings of Taizhou.
