The distributed solar power project jointly completed by Taizhou Traffic Industry Group, Taizhou Urban Construction Investment Group, and Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College was recently successfully connected to the grid. This marks the first collaboration between State-owned enterprises and a university on a photovoltaic project in Taizhou.

At the vocational college, a stunning view unfolds over the rooftops of student dormitories, where rows of solar panels shine brightly in the sunlight. "Solar panels have been installed on the rooftops of 13 dormitory buildings and are now connected to the national grid, generating nearly 5,000 kWh of electricity per day," explained Ji Xiangshuai, the project manager.

With a total installed capacity of 1,490 kilowatts, the project is expected to generate around 1.63 million kWh in its first year, saving approximately 443.85 metric tons of coal annually and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1,200 tons per year.

This collaboration opens new avenues for cooperation between enterprises and schools in renewable energy. Taizhou's abundant solar resources make it well-suited for solar power projects, with seven local colleges offering ideal opportunities to develop solar installations on their unused rooftops. The initiative is expected to bring economic and social benefits to the region.
