On Sept 20, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Taizhou Food and Tourism Season and the Taixing Cuisine (Shanghai) Promotion Week took place in Shanghai, inviting Shanghai residents to visit Taizhou for its famous crabs and scenic beauty.

At the launch, Taizhou's culture and tourism department announced three major activities to showcase the city's autumn charm – a short video competition, a music party, and culinary events such as the Qintong Eight Delicacies cooking contest and the Quxia Town Soup Dumpling Festival.

Visitors are able to savor local delicacies like hairy crabs, Qintong Eight Delicacies, crab roe soup dumplings, and Diaopu lamb. Additionally, Taizhou recommended nearly 30 locations for crab tasting and buying, along with convenient transportation options.

In addition to food, Taizhou is home to a variety of popular destinations, from cultural landmarks like Qintong Ancient Town to natural attractions like the Taixing National Ancient Ginkgo Park.

The launch event in Shanghai attracted many locals, who enjoyed tasting Taizhou specialties such as Jiangsha crabs and Quxia soup dumplings. Attendees expressed excitement about visiting Taizhou to experience its rich culture and cuisine firsthand.
