Public hospitals at the secondary level and above in East China's Jiangsu province began implementing a new initiative for general outpatient services on May 7.

In Taizhou city, 21 medical institutions are implementing the initiative, called One Registration for Three Days.

Under it, when patients visit the hospitals for general outpatient services and are unable to complete tests or obtain results on the same day, they can return within three days to the same hospital, department and area for a follow-up visit without needing to register again.

They will also be exempt from paying the general outpatient consultation fee.

The initiative applies to patients who require follow-up visits due to incomplete or unavailable test results on the day of their initial consultation.

Patients can use their initial registration form to obtain a queue number and wait to be seen in the relevant department's waiting area.

Many hospitals in the province now offer what is called Non-stop Outpatient Services for the public's convenience. Clinics operate normally on weekends and holidays, allowing patients to follow the One Registration for Three Days process for follow-up appointments.

If they are closed, appointments are moved to a later date. Clinic hours can be checked via hospital websites, mobile apps and on WeChat.
