Russian delegation explores Taizhou city's tourist hot spots

A group of 16 representatives from Russian cultural and tourism agencies and the media visited Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – on March 28-29, to explore tourism routes and try out its great cultural and tourism products.

They headed out to the Taihetang national medicine pavilion – a Taizhou traditional Chinese medicine culture exhibition hall – and the Shangchizhai Pharmacy, a major historical and cultural site protected at the national level.

There, they learned about the development of traditional Chinese medicine and acquired known-how about TCM practices such as acupuncture and tuina. They also experienced firsthand the Taizhou baduanjin, or Eight Brocade Exercises, a traditional Chinese fitness exercise.

Through these experiences, they are said to have deeply appreciated the charms of Taizhou's TCM health tourism.

Museums provide insights into societies, so the delegation toured Xinghua City Museum. There they were treated to diverse themes, some great exhibitions, informative explanations and performances – such as Banqiao Road Singing – really making their day.

To top it off, the Russian visitors ventured into the Qianduo scenic area, where they viewed expansive fields of rapeseed flowers and immersed themselves in the cultural atmosphere of the Baziqiao cultural and tourism block.

Overall, the delegation was said to have been really impressed by Taizhou's natural beauty, cultural heritage and its TCM health tourism. They expressed an interest in deepening their cooperation with the Chinese city and promoting Taizhou as an international tourist destination.
