In an effort to enhance its water supply capabilities and strengthen its flood control and drainage capacities, Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, is set to expedite the construction of its water infrastructure this year.

With a total investment of 2.4 billion yuan ($333.48 million) earmarked for water projects throughout the year, the city aims to further solidify its water resource management.

The city's water-related priorities include implementing the Capacity Improvement Project in Tongnan area. Additionally, strides will be made in the treatment projects as they relate to vital river channels, such as the Shengchan River, the Qiangxi River and the Shiwei Port. The city has also outlined the construction of 300 "Happiness Rivers and Lakes", with a target of at least 15 of them achieving provincial-level demonstration status.

Taizhou city's commitment to water infrastructure development underscores its dedication to sustainable water resource management, as well as its goal of fortifying the city against potential flooding and drainage challenges. As these projects unfold throughout the year, the city aims to create a more resilient and secure environment for its residents.
