Xinghua gets set to stage fun festive New Year activities

In the run-up to the Spring Festival, Xinghua city – which is administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – has organized a number of really fun festive activities for its folks.

On Feb 5-17, the Bazi Bridge scenic area will hold a Spring Festival market, which will offer things like New Year's goods and local dishes.

A lantern exhibition, a handicraft and intangible cultural heritage experience, folk song singing, a dragon dance and other fun and interesting activities will take place.

Elsewhere, Lixiahe Wetland Park will add special tourism entertainments, such as dragon and fish performances and a boat show during the Spring Festival. At Dazheguo Square in the area, visitors can also taste local delicacies and different kinds of locally grown grains.

During the Spring Festival holiday, people can enjoy folk dragon and lion dances, grinding soybean milk by hand, tying a wishing card onto a wishing tree and other festive stuff in the Shi Nai'an Cultural Park. They can also watch big fireworks and set off small fireworks at a designated location.
