Third session of the sixth Taizhou municipal people's congress opens

The third session of the sixth Taizhou municipal people's congress opened at the China Medical City International Conference Center in Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – on Jan 17.

Some 396 representatives, including Zhu Lifan – Party secretary of Taizhou city – attended, meeting the quorum. Wan Wenhua, mayor of Taizhou, presented reports at the ceremony.

Wan's report highlighted the city's achievements in the past year and outlined key objectives for the coming year, emphasizing its economic construction and high-quality development.

Wan emphasized the importance of seeking progress while maintaining stability and outlined economic and social development goals.

The report also highlighted three main areas of focus for the year – the development of a modern industrial system, building a people's city and enhancing people's well-being.

Wan also emphasized the need to advance Taizhou's modernization with Chinese characteristics and outlined higher standards for the municipal government's development.

The focus was on upholding "three musts" – demonstrating loyalty to the Party, prioritizing people's welfare and guarding against corruption. 

The goal is to take the lead in contributing to the construction of a strong country and national rejuvenation, making a significant impact on Taizhou's development.

The meeting was attended by top officials, including members of the municipal government, the deputy secretary-general, heads of various departments and members of the municipal supervisory committee, among others.
