Taizhou's efforts to improve the biodiversity of the Yangtze River were recently recognized at the 2023 World Coastal Forum, where the initiative was listed among the top nine ecological protection and restoration cases in Jiangsu province.
Over the years, Taizhou has strengthened its biodiversity observation network and monitoring capabilities. The adoption of eDNA, an innovative ecological monitoring technology, involves collecting detached fish DNA to identify fish species in a non-invasive manner.
