The Peking University Health Science Center – also known as the PUHSC (Taizhou) Pharmaceutical and Health Industry Innovation Center – was launched in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province on Oct 30.

The launch ceremony was attended by prominent figures – including Qiao Jie, an academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering and head of Peking University's Health Science Center.
Qiao emphasized the importance of bridging the gap in transforming medical research achievements into practical applications.
She expressed her support for the innovation center and its role in promoting the development of the biopharmaceuticals industry in Taizhou.
Qiao also encouraged the center to explore effective mechanisms for the commercialization of scientific achievements and to collaborate with pharma companies.
The center's strategic location in Taizhou city – known for its strong industrial base and supportive business environment – offers fertile ground for the advancement of pharmaceutical and health-related enterprises.
It is also said to present a unique opportunity for collaboration between research institutions, universities and pharma companies.
The center aims to promote the development of the pharmaceutical and health industry, enhance medical research capabilities and attract high-level talent and enterprises.
