A total of 66 Taizhou firms participated in Phase I of the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), occupying 101 booths, meeting with over 3,000 professional buyers, and achieving a total business value of over $30 million.
Phase I of the fair, which concluded on Oct 19 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, mainly featured household appliances, construction machinery, new energy products, processing equipment, and consumer electronics.
Taizhou's major companies and leading technologies utilized the fair as a platform to showcase their strengths to the world.
One of Taizhou's distinctive products, a fast-charging 26,700-3,300mAh sodium-ion power battery by Jiangsu Sunpower Co Ltd, attracted the attention of foreign purchasers. It is predicted that the company will be able to further improve the charging speed and safety of its products in the coming three years, which is also highly anticipated.
Kaihua Power Co Ltd brought its new 68 kW natural gas generator set to the fair, successfully promoting its product and technology as well as expanding its reach in international markets.
"Taizhou will send 36 companies to Phase II of the fair, which will open soon. We will occupy 50 booths covering industries such as kitchenware, festival supplies, construction and decoration materials, and household products," said Tang Chi, president of Taizhou's Trade Promotion Association.
He also stated that the city will continue to strengthen service and support for the fair, thus helping companies expand orders, explore markets, and increase exports.
