The inaugural Taizhou Green and Healthy Agricultural Product (Shanghai) Exhibition – held on Sept 26-27 at the Shanghai Agricultural Exhibition Center – has been hailed by many as a resounding success.
A total of 31 Taizhou government units and departments – including those from the supply and marketing system and various districts and cities – signed 36 procurement agreements with Shanghai businesses, totaling 1.55 billion yuan ($212.58 million) in sales transactions.
The exhibition featured 109 Taizhou companies presenting over 300 green and organic food items. Products such as crabs, fish balls, taro and more received enthusiastic praise from Shanghai residents.
Some items sold out and had to be restocked overnight, resulting in total sales revenue of 1.63 million yuan.
In addition to the expo's success, strategic cooperation agreements were signed between Taizhou's agriculture and rural affairs bureau and Shanghai enterprises.
The event is widely viewed as having effectively boosted the connection of Taizhou's agricultural resources with the Shanghai market, strengthening cooperation and benefiting both regions.
