Taizhou takes steps to grow big health industry

Taizhou has been making significant strides in the development of its big health industry.

Local authorities are currently focused on developing the following segments: biomedicine, new chemical drug preparations, in vitro diagnostic reagents, high-end medical devices, as well as special medical formula food and animal health care drugs.

To support these industries, the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone has been attracting innovative high-growth enterprises to form a complete industrial chain encompassing research and development, manufacturing and sales.

Authorities are also offering a range of comprehensive services related to registration and settlement, technology incubation, new drug declaration, financial support, and other aspects. To date, 21 public technology service platforms have been established in the zone to support companies.

Taizhou's medical industry is currently the largest in terms of scale among China's prefecture-level cities and accounts for one-fifth of Jiangsu province's medical industry and one-twentieth of the nation's.
