The Qinhu forum – a four-day startup promotion for entrepreneurs in the Yangtze River Delta and for cross-Straits talent – kicked off on April 6 in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province.
The forum is held under the auspices of a working team for cross-Straits cooperation and startups by young folks, the Taizhou municipal government and two other provincial bodies, with about 200 guests attending.
It's expected to advance university collaboration between Taizhou and Taiwan, as well as build a communications platform for younger people.
In terms of encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, the organizers will preside over various activities – including keynote speeches, themed meetings and the promotion of local startup policies, among other things.
In addition, the forum also places an emphasis on passing on Chinese traditional culture. To that end, young Taiwan participants will be invited to visit the Qintong Boat Festival and view a memorial for Peking Opera maestro Mei Lanfang.
The Qinhu forum has been held three times since its start in 2021 – including this year's ongoing event. In the first two, 12 projects were signed up, with combined investment of $640 million.
