The 13th Taizhou international tourism festival will kick off on March 23 and run to May 8, according to a recent organizing conference for the much-anticipated event.
The festival will stage more than 40 cultural activities including flower appreciation sessions, cultural exploration activities, food tastings and healthcare experience presentations.
The city of Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province is a typical water city. It has dense river networks and rich water systems. There are more than 20,000 large and small lakes. Its water area accounts for nearly 25 percent of the city's total area.
Relying on its unique water resources, Taizhou adheres to environmental priorities and green development. From north to south, the city has created a beautiful and pleasant place that exists in tandem with a healthy ecosystem.

In the southern region along the Yangtze River, there is a river-side scenic belt that stretches for hundreds of miles. Several endangered animals have been seen there, such as the finless porpoise and the white-headed crane.
