- Industrial base

As for Taizhou's automobile and parts industry, there are more than 190 enterprises covering complete vehicles, transmissions, steering, brakes, bodies and accessories production, among others. It also has 300 various parts producers – including those making body stamping parts, gears, bearings, brakes, antennas, door locks, new energy batteries, interiors, wheels, motors, etc. Of them, about 40 have a market share of over 30 percent.

The city is home to Great Wall Motor (GWM) vehicles and a group of backbone auto parts companies with revenue of over 1 billion yuan. GWM's factory in Taizhou is the eighth vehicle production base in China. In 2022 more than 300,000 vehicles will be produced there. Huada, Xincheng and other leading parts and components companies are said to have successfully opened a new way forwards for new energy vehicles.
