Taicang accelerates economic growth with strategic initiatives
Taicang in Jiangsu province is advancing its economic development goals through a series of strategic initiatives, focusing on enhancing the quality and efficiency of its development and translating policy benefits into real economic growth.
In the first half of the year, key investment projects progressed at a pace faster than expected. Notable achievements include the topping out of the global headquarters for the INGCO new energy smart manufacturing project and the impending commissioning of the Krones filling system. Infrastructure projects like the Taicang segment of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Intercity Railway are also making steady progress.
The city's industrial framework is evolving from a "3+3" model to a "3+3+X" structure, with a greater emphasis on quality and innovation. Over 60 percent of the top 100 projects focus on manufacturing, targeting sectors such as new energy vehicles and embodied intelligence.
Infrastructure development, crucial for emerging economies, is guided by the "six networks" strategy: the water network, the new-type power grid, the computing power network, the next-generation communication network, the urban underground pipeline network, and the logistics network. The Taicang Port Comprehensive Hub (Multimodal Transport) Logistics Park exemplifies this, enhancing supply chain efficiency.
The city is also fostering emerging industries, with a focus on AI and the low-altitude economy. It aims to turn AI from a vision into a practical tool while supporting the growth of specialized enterprises. Its low-altitude economy is also expanding, with over 140 related companies helping strengthen the city's industrial chain.
Taicang aims to further integrate with Shanghai's development, foster a business-friendly environment, and promote green energy and sustainable growth.
