A vibrant summer celebration in Qinli village, Shuangfeng town, Taicang, ended on July 18, attracting more than 40,000 visitors.

Set against the picturesque waterways and lotus ponds of the village, the event combined traditional culture, natural scenery and local customs to create a dynamic summer experience.

Illuminated lotus ponds and koi lantern night parades created a dreamlike atmosphere, while traditional-style dance performances added a cultural touch. Visitors also had the opportunity to take boat rides through the lotus ponds, explore the village in family-friendly pedal vehicles and participate in workshops on intangible cultural heritage.

"It takes only about an hour to drive here from Shanghai, and you can find lotus ponds glowing under the summer night sky," said a visitor surnamed Li from Shanghai. "It's a poetic yet lively summer night experience that is hard to find in the city."

The Goodies Market featured more than 50 stalls offering a wide selection of seasonal agricultural products and local goods. More than 20 stalls were reserved for local villagers, who sold homegrown lotus flowers, lotus pods and seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as handmade koi lanterns and water-town cultural products.
