May has transformed Taicang into a sea of roses, with the fragrance of blooming flowers drifting across the city.

Large red, pink, and yellow blossoms are now in full bloom, standing out against neatly trimmed lawns and newly renovated rural homes, creating picturesque spring scenery throughout the countryside.

In Wanfeng village, climbing roses flourish as they wind their way along fences and pathways. These beautiful vines create dense clusters of blooms that form stunning floral walls, bursting with color and fragrance.

The flourishing landscapes are the result of a citywide greening initiative launched last November, when Taicang distributed more than 7,000 rose seedlings free of charge to villages and rural households. The program included multiple rose varieties suited to local conditions.

To ensure healthy growth, horticultural experts provided comprehensive guidance on plant characteristics, soil suitability, and pest prevention, helping residents cultivate thriving gardens and adding new vitality to the rural environment.
