A delegation from Taicang carried out investment promotion and business exchange activities in Germany and Switzerland from April 12 to 17.
On April 17, a corporate roundtable meeting was held in Bern, Switzerland. At the event, Taicang presented its industrial strengths and business environment, showcasing the city's economic vitality and achievements in China-Europe cooperation.
In addition, the delegation participated in the Jiangsu-Germany Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference in Berlin, organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce and the German Association of Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW). The event served as a platform to promote Taicang's investment environment and strengthen matchmaking between Chinese and German companies.
During the visit, the delegation also held meetings with several key institutions and enterprises, including the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE), Burkert, and global hearing care leader Sonova.
Burkert has continuously expanded its presence in Taicang, establishing its largest overseas production base. The company has achieved a 60 percent localization rate of core components in the city and positioned Taicang as its logistics hub and R&D center serving global markets. During the latest meeting, both sides held in-depth discussions on further strengthening their cooperation.
At Sonova, the delegation gained insights into the company's latest developments in hearing device R&D, smart manufacturing, and digital healthcare services. They also extended an invitation for Sonova to prioritize Taicang when planning new production capacity, product lines, and after-sales service networks.
Currently, Taicang is home to more than 560 German-invested enterprises, forming strong industrial clusters in high-end equipment manufacturing, automotive core components, and aerospace sectors.
