Jiabei Country Park in Shanghai's Jiading district welcomed nearly 10,000 visitors a day on average during this year's National Day holiday, as more than 60 mu (about 4 hectares) of pink muhly grass reached peak bloom.
The flower fields form a sweeping pink landscape, with feathery plumes swaying in the breeze like clouds of pink mist against the green countryside.
To help visitors capture the seasonal beauty, the park has installed several photo spots, including a corridor of traditional oil-paper umbrellas, pink heart-shaped arches and an elevated staircase overlooking the fields.
"It's so beautiful, with pink mist beneath the blue sky. Very romantic," said a local resident surnamed Shi.
Beyond the flower fields, the park's expansive lawns offer space for picnics and relaxation. Visitors pitch tents, spread out picnic mats and enjoy the tranquil rural scenery, with rice paddies stretching into the distance.
A local resident surnamed Wang said spending time in the fields, watching drifting clouds and the setting sun illuminate the rice plants, offered a welcome chance to slow down.
The park has also introduced hands-on rural activities for tourists to try, including digging up and roasting sweet potatoes, giving visitors more ways to experience life in the countryside.
The pink muhly grass is expected to remain in bloom for about a month, offering people several more weeks to enjoy the seasonal display.
