The "Power to Change the World — 2026 OK MY MODEL Engineering Model Special Exhibition" is now running at the Shanghai Auto Exhibition Center in Jiading district.

It features more than 200 engineering machinery models covering mining, lifting, road maintenance, firefighting, metro tunneling and marine engineering. Some are rare models from overseas that have been discontinued for years.

Unlike traditional displays, the models are placed in miniature settings representing mines, wind farms, tunnels and ports, helping visitors see how the machines are used in major engineering projects.

One highlight is a 1:87 scale brass set of 12 classic Caterpillar models made by CCM. The handcrafted models reproduce fine details and feature movable parts.

Another is a 1:50 scale model of XCMG's XCA1200 all-terrain crane. The real machine can lift up to 1,200 metric tons — roughly the weight of 300 adult elephants. Miniature elephants are placed beside the model to bring the figure to life.

All the exhibits come from the OK MY MODEL collection, built over decades by collector Gu Qiming.

The exhibition runs through Nov 15 and is open from 9:30 am to 5 pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Admission is free.
