A futuristic robot world in Jiading district, Shanghai, is attracting visitors with a wide range of interactive technology experiences.
As one of the top 10 new cultural and tourism consumption destinations of the 2026 Shanghai Tourism Festival, the iRIC × Deep Space Robot Future World combines robot exhibitions, hands-on experiences and science education.
The 4,000-square-meter venue features nearly 100 types of intelligent robots used in such areas as healthcare, entertainment and education. Visitors can interact with AI robots, play chess with smart machines, watch humanoid robots perform, and even control racing cars through brain-computer interface technology.
Children can enjoy playing with robotic dogs, while visitors can also try their hand – or feet – at robot football, drone flights and other immersive experiences.
"I never thought robots could be so much fun," said one visitor surnamed Zhang. "After trying these technologies for myself, I can feel that artificial intelligence is becoming a part of our daily lives."
The venue includes four indoor sections showcasing robotics achievements, AI experiences, science education and industry applications. It also has an outdoor training area featuring humanoid robots, quadruped robots, drones and other smart devices.
The iRIC base has gathered more than 110 companies from the robotics industry chain and receives over 500 visitors daily on average. It aims to promote the use of robots in tourism, entertainment and everyday scenarios, offering the public more opportunities to experience the future of intelligent technology.
