A prolonged heat wave across many overseas markets is driving demand for cooling products, helping a Shanghai-based air conditioning equipment manufacturer, Yingta, expand its global business.
The Jiading district-based company reported an 8 percent year-on-year increase in export sales in the first half of 2026, while its total sales rose about 18 percent over the same period.
Yingta specializes in customized air-conditioning outlets, which have been installed at venues for the Olympic Games and the China International Import Expo.
One of its latest products, featuring a rotary airflow control knob and snap-fit installation, recently secured an order from Australia worth more than 4 million yuan (about $560,000).
According to the company, overseas customers value products that are easy to install and maintain. Its products are exported to France, Italy, Morocco, Spain, and the United States.
Yingta has also stepped up investment in research and development. Its self-developed air volume valve allows different rooms within the same central air-conditioning system to maintain different temperatures, making it suitable for places such as hospitals.
The technology was developed after the company received an overseas customized order worth more than 10 million yuan earlier this year. The product has since been granted multiple patents.
The company plans to further strengthen its Jiading headquarters as its global center for research, technology, and sales while expanding its presence in overseas markets.
