Shanghai Auto Electric Drive, based in Jiading district, has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), marking the company's full alignment with global standards in compliant governance, ESG development and sustainable business growth.
Launched in 2000, the UNGC is the world's largest and most influential corporate sustainability initiative. It guides enterprises to integrate international principles on human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption into their daily operations, advancing global sustainable development.
It boasts thousands of members across over 160 countries and regions, including most Fortune Global 500 firms and leading Chinese enterprises such as Huawei, Lenovo and State Grid.
Founded in 2008, the national high-tech and specialized enterprise has built 11 production and R&D bases at home and abroad, covering Shanghai, Chongqing, London and New York, with its products widely applied in global new energy vehicles.
Company President Chen Lei said that membership is both an honor and a responsibility, which will boost global cooperation, brand influence, and comprehensive competitiveness.
