Number of tourists visiting Guyi Garden during holidays reaches record high

A total of 80,000 tourists visited Jiading's Guyi Garden during the National Day holidays between Oct 1 and 7, marking an increase of about 12.37 percent compared to the same period last year.

On Oct 2, 18,000 visitors entered the graden – setting a record for the number of tourists entering the site on a single day and realizing a 46 percent increase than the same day last year.

A vintage-themed cosplay party was held between Oct 1 and 3, and attracted many residents and tourists dressed in traditional Chinese clothing.

The management committee of the garden also organized an exhibition concerning traditional steamed buns, and opera, flute and guqin (a seven-stringed musical instrument) performances.

And the Shanghai Flower Art Association also organized a flower decoration exhibition in the garden. A delegation from the association once participated in the Shanghai Week at the 9th China (Beijing) International Garden Expo.
