Baotou Donghe International Airport handled 346 flights during the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, with a passenger throughput of nearly 40,000 and cargo and mail throughput of 57.7 metric tons.

Regional flights mainly connect to Chifeng, Hulunbuir, and Xilinhot, while inter-provincial flights serve major destinations such as Zhengzhou, Xi'an, and Hangzhou.

To cope with heavy passenger flow, the airport opened additional check-in counters and security lanes, optimized passenger movement procedures, stepped up guidance within the terminal building, released real-time flight updates, and strengthened duty shifts.

Railways recorded 234,600 passenger departures, a 72.13 percent year-on-year increase, and 243,400 passenger arrivals, up 113.04 percent.

Toll stations across the city also waived a total of 7.33 million yuan ($1.11 million) in fees for passenger cars, benefiting 522,400 trips. The total traffic volume reached 703,300 vehicle trips, averaging 100,500 trips per day, representing a 38 percent increase compared with average days.
