Five cities reach consensus on real estate registration

Updated: 2024-04-29

The cities of Ordos, Hohhot, Baotou, Bayannuur and Wuhai – all located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – recently jointly signed a cooperation agreement to process real estate registrations in different places.

The agreement includes transfer registrations, mortgage registrations, notice registrations, other registrations and real estate registration information inquiries – totaling 16 high-frequency business items in the first list of transaction items.

Under the new accord, residents and businesses domiciled in one of the cities can now handle business that previously required returning to their place of registration.

Traditionally, there has been close economic and social interaction among the five cities.

The implementation of the "transacting real estate registrations in different places" agreement is expected to pave the way for positive change.

It's seen as changing the traditional mode of real estate registrations based on territorial jurisdiction – overcoming challenges such as lengthy processing times for businesses and individuals handling affairs remotely.

Furthermore, the move aims to reduce the costs and time spent on intercity transactions, thereby boosting efficiency and convenience.
