Baogang Group recognized at awards ceremony
Baogang Group of Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, won the Nomination Award of the China Grand Awards for Industry for its outstanding contribution to industrial development and innovation, according to Baotou Daily.
Baogang Group was one of the 13 businesses and nine projects to be granted a top industry award in China.
Co-founded by the China Federation of Industrial Economics and 12 major industrial federations with approval of the State Council, the China Grand Awards for Industry is recognized as the top award in the industrial sector in China. The award is aimed at commending benchmark industrial businesses and projects, and spurring industrial progress as well as economic development in China.
Three separate awards are included: the industry award, the nomination award, and the recognition award.
Since its establishment in 2004, the awards have been held every two years and have been granted to a total of 106 businesses and projects.
Baogang Group, or Baotou Iron and Steel Group, is an iron and steel State-owned company based in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. It is the largest steel business based in the autonomous region, and one of the oldest iron and steel industrial bases in China, with a large production base of iron and steel, and the largest scientific research and production base of rare earth metals in China.
