A media tour organized by China's State Council Information Office concluded on June 13, bringing together nearly 40 journalists from China and countries including the US, the UK, and Germany for a four-day visit to North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

During the tour, the journalists traveled to the region's major cities — Hohhot, Ordos, and Baotou — where they explored developments in ecological conservation, computing infrastructure, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing, gaining firsthand insight into Inner Mongolia's high-quality development and green transformation.

In Hohhot, journalists visited the Horinger New Area City Brain and Digital Exhibition Center to learn about the region's digital transformation. They also toured the Mengma Intelligent Transportation Equipment Manufacturing Base and China's dairy giant Mengniu, gaining insight into smart manufacturing, green production, and modern agricultural development driven by technological innovation.

In Ordos, the delegation visited Envision Group's Modern Energy Equipment Industrial Park, where its zero-carbon operating model integrating wind, solar, energy storage, and hydrogen technologies impressed many participants.

Victoria, a journalist from Brazil's Folha de S.Paulo, said the park was the most memorable stop of the trip, highlighting its significant progress in green energy development. She added that she would share Inner Mongolia's successful energy transition and innovative projects with audiences in Brazil.

The group also visited the Engebei Ecological Demonstration Zone, where they learned about how once-barren desert land had been transformed into a thriving green landscape. Journalists met renowned desertification-control pioneer Yin Yuzhen, whose four decades of dedication have resulted in more than 70,000 mu ( 4,667 hectares) of newly planted forest on the edge of the Mu Us Desert. Journalists also experienced building straw checkerboard barriers, a traditional sand-control technique.

In Baotou, visits to Mingyang Northern Smart Energy Inner Mongolia Co and Beiben Heavy-duty Vehicle Co showcased the strength of Inner Mongolia's new-energy equipment manufacturing sector.
