China's first border port transport facility project gets approval
China's first infrastructure project dedicated to cross-border vehicle transportation management at a land border port has been approved by the Ministry of Transport, marking a major step forward in enhancing border connectivity and trade facilitation.
The Manzhouli Border Port Vehicle Entry and Exit Transport Management Infrastructure Project is located in Manzhouli city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and will provide important transport support for the development of the China (Inner Mongolia) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
The project, which is to be built south of the restricted area of the Manzhouli Expressway Port and north of the Suifenhe–Manzhouli Expressway, will include inspection facilities and operational buildings for passenger and cargo transport services, as well as related inspection areas.
The project covers 94,965 square meters with a total building area of 3,870 square meters, has a planned investment of 85.47 million yuan ($12.61 million), and will be fully funded by the Ministry of Transport.
The project is expected to enhance the efficiency of transport services at the Manzhouli border port, increase customs clearance capacity, and improve the flow of international road freight and passenger transport between China and Russia.
It will also help strengthen regional connectivity and support China's dual-circulation development strategy by facilitating both domestic and international trade.
