Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) recently got the green light to establish an academician and expert workstation focusing on the history of science and technology from Inner Mongolia’s science and technology department and Association for Science and Technology.
A nameplate unveiling ceremony was held at IMNU’s Saihan campus on the afternoon of Sept 1. It was attended by around 60 experts and scholars from the field of science and technology history and officials from the government of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and IMNU.
Zhang Baichun, director of the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech at the nameplate unveiling ceremony.
In his speech, Zhang said that research stations focusing on the history of science and technology are gradually increasing in China. Though, he added, there are not many science and technology history disciplines that have their own academic brands and international influence.
The Institute of History of Science and Technology at IMNU has undertaken long-term academic research and made significant achievements. It has won international academic status and has become an excellent educational resource for Inner Mongolia autonomous region and the country at large.
