The International Symposium on Cross-Border Media Research and Journalism Education in China and Mongolia was held in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Nov 6.

The event was co-hosted by Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) and various local cultural research institutes.

Gao Yunfeng, vice-president of IMNU, delivered a speech at the symposium.

“China is intensifying its efforts in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor project,” he said.

“By strengthening exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the professional field of journalism and communication, the two nations can add fuel to the formulation of relevant policies.”

Experts and scholars from the two countries held discussions on topics such as journalism and education reform research, academic cooperation research, and talent exchanges. Gao said a platform for exchange and cooperation between the Chinese and Mongolian journalism and education communities will be set up.

The event was divided into three sections, covering various topics including China-Mongolia journalism and communication education, China-Mongolia cross-border communication research, and China-Mongolia film and television art teaching and research.

Not only did the participants conduct a comprehensive analysis of journalism and communication majors in China and Mongolia and shared research papers on cross-border communication between the two countries from various perspectives, they also discussed topics related to drama, film and television.
