Time and space lecture opened in IMNU

The opening ceremony of the Time and Space Lecture was hosted at the School of Physics and Electronic Information of Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) on Dec 8. 

Wu Xiangping, researcher from the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Liu Jiuwan, vice-president of IMNU, attended the ceremony.

The meeting was chaired by Cao Yongjun, deputy director of the School of Physics and Electronic Information. 

After the ceremony, Wu Xiangping was invited to give a special lecture entitled "Knowing Our Universe" to nearly 500 teachers, undergraduates, graduate students. 

He shared knowledge about the universe and mankind, offering the students a broader view towards the universe and the world. 

After the lecture, Wu Xiangping, accompanied by IMNU officials, visited the school history museum. 

The lecture was part of the Shengle Lecture project initiated by IMNU in 2004. the project has become one of the school's most distinctive brand activities. 

The lectures cover a series of disciplines in areas such as ideology and politics, science and technology, education and teaching, history and culture, and arts and sports. 

It is regarded by the local government as a national base for the popularization of humanities and social sciences in Inner Mongolia.
