Teachers report on online course construction
In order to promote the construction of online open courses and explore innovative teaching modes, Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) organized a workshop for its teachers, on Dec 10.
At the meeting, teachers of first batch of online courses posted online gave reports on the construction and operation condition of the courses, namely Linguistics, Land Economics, Soil Geography, and Advanced Application of Office Software.
The university has been taking great strides in developing a smart campus with the use of the latest information technology, according to an article on the official IMNU WeChat account.
IMNU officials said their school is continuing to expand its network space and build a smart campus to meet the new challenges brought by cutting-edge technologies such as big data, cloud computing, the mobile internet and artificial intelligence.
They said the university has achieved full WIFI coverage, which will greatly facilitate the mobile work and studies of teachers and students.
Officials said that the university is utilizing a massive open online course – or MOOC -- platform. MOOC is a recent educational development employing the latest technology for distance learning. They said that through the platform, the number of courses of high quality has intensively increased.
To date, quite a few courses provided by the school have been launched on the MOOC platform and selected as national level quality resource sharing courses.
