IMNU Buddhism culture research center inaugurated
The Buddhism Cultural Research Center of Inner Mongolia Normal University was inaugurated at the Buddhism Cultural Museum in Ejin Horo Banner in Erdos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Nov 23.
Yun Guohong, president of the IMNU and various officials of the Erdos government attended the ceremony.
The IMNU signed a friendship cooperation agreement with the Buddhism Cultural Museum, promising to contribute to the future management and development of the museum.
Zhuo Xinping, director of the Consultant Committee of the Buddhism Cultural Research Center, pointed out that both the research center and the museum should place their emphasis on showcasing the development history of Buddhism in the region and highlight Mongolian Buddhism arts and culture.
The center's development strategy was also released at the ceremony.
According to Wei Daoru, director of the Buddhism Cultural Research Center, the institute is expected to become a multi-functional tourism and research base for Mongolian Buddhism. It will not only provide a platform for academic communications, but also serve as an attraction for tourists from around the country.
IMNU president Yun Guohong said that one of the reasons why the university had established a cooperative relationship with the Buddhism Cultural Museum was to promote Buddhist culture and contribute to the prosperity of the country and national unity.
He also proposed that the two sides start scientific research cooperation by collating and studying the works and literatures of the living Buddhas of Ulan so as to make positive contributions to promoting Buddhism in China.
