The 19th National College Athletics Championships kicked off at Inner Mongolia Normal University in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia on July 26.

This national event is the most highly regarded athletics competition among college students in China and many outstanding college athletes from all over the country come to compete.

A number of distinguished guests, including Tian Xiaojun, vice-president of the Chinese Athletics Association, Shi Zongkai, president of the Track and Field Federation of University Sports of China, Feng Yuzhen, deputy secretary of the CPC Hohhot Municipal Committee, and Yun Guohong, president of IMNU, attended the opening ceremony. 

Feng Yuzhen addressed the ceremony and encouraged participants to tour the city during their stay in Hohhot. 

IMNU will join with other universities and organizations to ensure the event serves as a wonderful opportunity for college students to interact and compete, said Yun Guohong, principal of IMNU.

Amateurs and hobbyists are also encouraged to participate in the Student Race.
