Lian Ji, director of the Chinese National Academy of Arts, visited Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU) on June 21, and was received by IMNU President Yun Guohong and Party committee member Zhang Baocheng, along with several other IMNU officers.

After Yun gave a briefing on IMNU's devlopment of artistic disciplines, Lian expressed his appreciation of IMNU's efforts to integrate Inner Mongolia autonomous region's creative culture industry into its courses, noting the important role higher education plays in furthering the development of a national culture. Lian also said that IMNU still has a long way to go in transforming Inner Mongolia's abundant cultural resources into economically viable products.

During a tour of the college's workshops, Lian praised IMNU's innovative education model and the positive environment it created for students.

At the end of the tour, Professor Jin Feng introduced Lian to IMNU's collection, preservation and management of Inner Mongolian archives and literature from both the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and Republic of China (1912-1949). Lian thanked Professor Jin's department for its contributions to the promotion and preservation of Inner Mongolian culture.
